As girls are the neglected lot Mahabodhi started
a hostel for girls. Initially a temporary bamboo shed was home for these girls for three years. Now by the compassionate generosity of Ms.Monica Thaddey we have been able to build a spacious hostel building named after her revered late mother Rita Thaddey. It houses
175 girls at present, a big dining hall, kitchen and also three rooms for volunteers. The second part of the Rita home is
completed and more children will be admitted.
These girls are drawn from very poor families of Arunachal Pradesh and there are at least 15 different tribal children speaking different languages. Hindi is common language for all. The whole project is to provide hostel facilities for 250 girls.

Water Tank:
For the last three years the Mahabodhi Diyun has been facing a lot of water problem. The ordinary wooden stand water tank's capacity was only 4000 liters which was not sufficient for the entire project. Now with the support and love of Ms.Monica a concrete water tank has been built. The stock capacity is 20000 liters. We are very much grateful to her for this contribution.
Drinking Water Filters:
We needed to provide pure filtered water to children to avoid water borne diseases. Corinne
from France donated two water filters which are very useful.
Power Transformer Installation:
Since over loaded small transformer could not supply sufficient voltage
electricity for the whole Mahabodhi campus from long distance, we are facing lot of problem to lift water and for running computers and communication system. Now we
have installed 63 KV Transformer which can supply quality electricity to the whole campus.
